Where to begin. I guess I can start off by telling you why of all things I would want to write a blog. For as long as I can remember I was obsessed with notebooks. Something about a new sheet of paper makes me so happy on the inside. It’s a clean start. I can write, draw, anything I want. The possibilities are endless. My happy place has always been a piece of paper and pen. Just thinking about it makes me calm. I have stacks upon stacks of notebooks that have never been written in but I just had to buy them. I don’t leave any store without stopping by the notebooks first to see what they have. It is a running joke in my family about me writing about everything. Make me mad and I will write you a letter. Make me happy and I will write you a letter. I express my feelings and thoughts best through writing.
Well a year ago God put it on my heart to write a blog. I thought about it and considered it but never did anything else about it. I hadn’t given it much thought since. A couple of days ago I was cutting the grass. I had no one to talk to so it was just me and my thoughts. I started thinking about life and the people God has put in my life. As I am thinking about all this I notice, or whether the Holy Spirit points out, that I am thinking about all these things as if I was reading a book. It was in detail and thought out. I believe that is a gift of the spirit from God. Words of wisdom. I believe God bestows us with several gifts. Not just one. They work together to make us who we are. Those gifts help believers do what God has called them to do and give him glory.
That’s when the thought came into my head to start a blog again. When I woke up the next morning I checked messages on Facebook. There’s a tab on there that allows you to see what you posted that day from previous years. I absolutely love that because I get to see videos and pictures from when my kids were little. Well a post from the last time I thought about writing a blog came up. I do not believe in coincidence. I believe that is how God shows us things. If you see the same verse several times in a short period of time or a certain friend is on your mind for a few days that’s God’s way of trying to get your attention about something. By seeing that post I knew without a doubt it was God confirming what he had showed me the night before. I allow the to do list, housework, running errands, everything except doing what God wanted me to do get in the way. It is so easy to get off track. Life has a way of doing that to us. The enemy loves to distract us from what is important. God should always be first. Time spent with God in prayer is the most important conversation you can have. Time well spent. He is our Father. He is waiting for us to talk to him every minute of every day.
My goal for this blog is to show life from my point of view. As a follower of Jesus, wife, mother, and Christian Life Coach. All in that order. My prayer for you is that if you do not know Jesus that through this blog you can come to know God and know who he really is and what he is not! As you are reading this I hope that it feels like you are talking to an old friend. I hope you feel comfortable with me. I look forward to your feedback. I am still growing and still learning and I am happy you are with me on this journey called Life!
